Sometimes things line up to make magic happen. That’s exactly how we felt at our last gig.
We played a couple of hours at Twin Falls Sandwich Company this past weekend, and it was such a fun evening.
Sometimes live music has a way of keeping you on your toes. You never quite know how a gig is going to go. Will the setup be smooth? Will the sound cooperate? Will people come? Will the energy be there?
This time, everything just clicked.
We left a little earlier than planned, which turned out to be a very good thing, because bridge traffic coming into Twin Falls can be unpredictable. Instead of arriving flustered and rushed, we had plenty of time to get settled, breathe, and ease into the evening.
And that changes everything.
There’s something so different about setting up when you’re calm instead of scrambling.
As we arrived, people were already gathering and pulling tables closer so they could hear and see everything up close, which immediately made us smile. There’s something special about realizing people are genuinely excited to hear live music.
We got the equipment set up, ran our sound checks, slipped into costume, and before long we were ready to go.
The crowd was an absolute delight.
There were lots of musicians there, which is always both fun and a little intimidating in the best way. But the whole evening felt warm, welcoming, and playful. One of our favorite moments is when people suddenly realize they know all the words to these old songs and start singing along.
That happens more than you might think.
Something about those vintage tunes sticks around in people’s memories, even when they haven’t heard them in years.
We had people smiling, toe tapping, singing along, and I even did a bit of the Charleston.
Honestly, those are the moments we live for.
The two hours flew by in what felt like a blink.
Then suddenly, just like that, we were packing everything back into the truck again.
But that’s how the best gigs feel, isn’t it?
A handful of magical moments. New friends. Shared laughter. Music filling the room.
And then you drive home already looking forward to the next one.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long.
We’ll be back at Twin Falls Sandwich Company in July, and we already can’t wait.
